Even though Lake Erie hasn't completely frozen over yet, and we're dealing with lake effect snow in Western NY, I'll be dreaming somewhere warm and tropical. This
Cocktail Friday is inspired by the cold, grey and snowy days ahead, we gave the
Frozen Lake Water cocktail recipe a try.

| My husband is the cocktail master! |
Ingredients:
2oz. Blue Curacao
4oz. Pineapple Juice
2oz. Captain Morgans Parrot Bay Rum or a coconut rum of your choice
Instructions say to blend with ice to create a slushie effect. Since we prefer our drinks 'on the rocks', Derek mixed the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and poured over ice into Tiki mugs as this cocktail is very Tiki-esque and has a tropical vibe.

| Taste testing the cocktail in our Tiki room. |
Our thoughts: The drink is STRONG, but good (we like strong!) and even better with a splash of orange juice which turned the drink a cool green color! I'm not a big coconut fan, but I did enjoy this cocktail as all the flavors complimented each other nicely. Easy drink to make and if you love fruity and fun, this recipe is a nice introduction into the wonderful world of Tiki concoctions.
*Cheers!*

ReplyDeleteI have to admit, after one I was pretty tipsy. Teehee :)
DeleteWe tried this yesterday, only with Parfait Amour instead of blue curacao, but it only made the end result even more gothy, since the drinks turned purple ;P It was delicious, thanks for sharing!
